Xavier, Holy Cross prevail in ICTSI Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - Riding the big games of rising stars Apple Fudolin and  JJ Gamolo, Xavier and Holy Cross High posted convincing wins in the recently concluded ICTSI-JGFP Mindanao Inter-School golf championships at the Del Monte Golf course in San Miguel, Bukidnon.

Fudolin fired rounds of 51-46 and Pamela Mariano backed her up with 50-40 as Xavier aggregated 187 to finish far ahead of Bukidnon Faith Christian (111)  in the Girls 1 division of the tourney sponsored by the International Container Terminal  Services, Inc. 

Gamolo teamed up with Fudolin’s brother Patric and Zandre and Kirby Miñoza for a 289 tally for 36 holes and a rousing win over Manolo Fortich HS (192).

San Miguel Elementary School emerged the winningest team with its twin victories in the Midgets 2 and Midgets 3 divisions fielding teams that also featured members of the prominent Miñoza golfing clan.

Rolando Bregente, Niño Miguel Miñoza and Jay Anthony Lusterio carried San Miguel to a runaway win in Midgets 2 while Chris Aparilla and Michelle Miñoza took the Midgets 3 crown for San Miguel.

Our Lady of Carmel’s Sofia Chabon won the Girls 2 category, the Del Monte School trio of Marlon Santiago, Jacob Rolida and Miggy Linac claimed the Midgets 1 and Mindanao University of Science and Technology’s Mo Losbanos was the senior division champion of the event that lured 60 players from 19 schools.

Individual winners were Fudolin, Gamolo, Chabon, Bregente, Aparilla, Losbanos and Jet Sajulga of Xavier who beat Santiago in Midgets 1. 

The other schools represented were Abbas Orchard, Ateneo de Davao, Cagayan de San Ignacio, Marywoods Academy, Nanuri, Northern Bukidnon College, Oro Christian and Rosevale.
