Six teams vie in UAAP football Sunday

MANILA, Philippines - The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s football competitions kick off Sunday with six teams seeing action at the Erechun field in Ateneo de Manila University.

Ateneo battles University of the East at 9:30 a.m. in the first game while De La Salle University and Far Eastern University tangle at 1 p.m.

Host National University, under coach Lem Laranas, takes on University of Santo Tomas at 3 p.m.

Reigning champion University of the Philippines draws a bye in the opening day.

In women’s play at the Ocampo field, UP collides with Ateneo at 1 p.m., while FEU and La Salle square off at 3 p.m.

The junior’s event, meanwhile, will be played Jan. 12, 2013 with FEU and La Salle-Zobel colliding at 1 p.m. and Ateneo facing off UST at 3 p.m.
