Skyforce reaches semis in DELeague
MANILA, Philippines - Skyforce held off Steel Trust Corp., 91-85, to clinch the last semifinal berth in the second DELeague Open Invitational Basketball Cup at the Marikina Sports Park gym Tuesday night.
Jonathan Aldave and Allan Salangsang combined for 25 points for Skyforce, which also toughened up on defense in the fourth quarter to seal the victory and join Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, Hobe Bihon and Hog’s Breath in the Final Four.
Skyforce held Tolomia and Marvin Hayes, who combined for 48 points, to just six markers in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Power Network scored a walkover win over DSM Construction in the league organized by Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman and backed by PCA-Marivalley, OLOPS College, Jekasa Sportswear, Hobe Bihon, Mckie’s Video, Simply Delicious and Luyong Panciteria.
Winners of the round-robin semifinal matches will dispute the crown in a best-of-three affair.
The team which sweeps the elims will gain a twice-to-beat edge in the finals.
