MANILA, Philippines - Dottie Ardina rallied with a three-under 70 but just couldn’t catch the red-hot Minjee Lee, finishing fourth in the Elvie Whitesides Golf Championship at the Hobart Golf Club in Hobart, Tasmania Tuesday.
Lee, 16, closed out with a record eight-under 65 for 19-under 273 and retained the crown via a 10-shot romp over Su Hyuh Oh, who fumbled with a 74 for a 283.
Hayley Bettencourt also carded a 70 to finish third at 288 while Ardina rammed in five birdies against two bogeys for that 70 and a 289.
The top ICTSI-backed bet, meanwhile, took the net crown with a handicap of 2.
Jayvie Agojo wound up sixth with a 296 after a 76 at the par-73 layout.
Lee anchored her runaway triumph with an impressive 68-69 output Monday where the field played two rounds in one day and where Ardina, who won the Taiwan Amateur Open and the Penang Open recently, sputtered with a 75-73 after an impressive opening of 71.
