Bakers to keep hot run over cold Gems

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Café France takes on Cebuana Lhuillier today, looking for its third win in four games and a share of third in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Bakers, coming off a 73-58 rout of Erase Xfoliant last Thursday, hope to pounce on the struggling Gems, who have lost two of their first three games.

The match is set at 4 p.m. after the 2 p.m. encounter between winless Jose Rizal U and Informatics.

But Cebuana is also expected to rebound from a poor 1-2 start

Roger Pogoy turned in a double-double effort with 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Bakers snapped the Erasers’ two-game run. Michael Parala, Jen Knuttel, John Jamon and Alvin Padilla also scored in double digits and are expeted to lead the Bakers’ charge again.

The Gems, on the other hand, dropped a sorry 90-91 decision to Fruitas last week then suffered a stinging blowout loss, 61-81, to Big Chill.
