Elorde holds anniversary derby
MANILA, Philippines - A four-cock derby will be held Nov. 19 , at 4 p.m., at the Elorde Cockpit Stadium on Sucat Road, Parañaque.
Promoted by businessman-sportsman Johnny Elorde, the derby, now on its 19th year, has a guaranteed prize of P300,000. Top breeders and cockfighting aficionados from Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Muntinlupa and Las Piñas are expected to participate.
Entry fee is P11,000 while minimum bet is P5,000. The handler and the gaffer get P20,000 and P10,000, respectively.
Submission and declaration of weights, which must be between 1.8 kg and 2.4 kg, is one day before the derby.
Meanwhile, a one-cock Ulutan Fastestkill will be held Nov. 26. It will be hosted by Elorde House Kristo and promoted by Elorde management.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. while the derby starts at 12 noon.
