Alder Almo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – As the Azkals wrap up their preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup, Phil. Football Federation president Mariano "Nonong" Araneta expressed confidence that the nationals are more than ready.

"With our strong showing against Bahrain and Kuwait, we've shown we can compete with the best of Asia. Hopefully, we can do that with the best of Southeast Asia," Araneta said.

The Azkals drew with Bahrain and lost a close 1-2 decision to Kuwait recently in their Middle East training camp. They will be playing the Singapore Lions tomorrow in Cebu before leaving for Bangkok, Thailand on Nov. 20.

The Filipino booters will play Thailand on Nov. 24, Vietnam on Nov. 27 and Myanmar on Nov. 30.
