Color Manila to usher in 2013 running events

MANILA, Philippines - Proactive Sports and KangaROOS, the original shoes with pockets, kicks off next year’s running events with the Color Manila Run 2013 on Jan. 6 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

The event is the first of its kind in the country as runners will be showered with colored powder at different stations, eventually producing throngs of happy human canvas at the finish line.

Competitions will be at 1.5k, 3k and 5k divisions with the event aiming at bringing about unique experience of running, infused with a color extravaganza to help encourage new generation of runners to experience the fun and fulfilling sport. The Color Manila Run will also put together the country’s hottest music artists, providing the rhythm and beats during the event.

The novel event will also be held for the benefit of Republikha, a non-stock, non profit organization that aims to empower the next generation through music and education, and Hop-E, a foundation moving towards helping eradicate poverty through the four elements, Education, Empowerment, Employment, and Events.

Registration is ongoing with deadline set on Dec. 15 at Runnr branches at Bonifacio Global City, Alabang Town Center, and Trinoma; Toby’s branches at Mall of Asia and Megamall; Urban Athletics Greenbelt 3.
