1,017 entries vie in ‘Bakbakan’

MANILA, Philippines - Barely two weeks after its launch, the “NFGB National Bakbakan 11-Stag Derby” has already attracted 1,017 entries.

“Bakbakan”,  staged by the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB), has a guaranteed prize of P47 million plus seven units of Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up.

Bulacan breeders have the most number of entries (182) followed by Batangas (176), Ilocos (122), Bicol (109) and Cavite (107).

Another powerhouse group, the 400-member Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association (RGBA), will start its campaign today at Texas Cockpit.

In a welcome development, the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) will also join “Bakbakan” via the national eliminations scheduled on Nov. 21 and 27 at Ynares Sports Arena.

The event is co-presented by Thunderbird and B-Meg Derby Ace, with Supremo Feeds, Pilmico, Lakpue Drug Inc., Excellence Gamefowl Specialists, VNJ Distributors and Resorts World Manila.
