MANILA, Philippines - The 73-entry “AA Cobra Big Event 8-Stag Derby”, a showdown of who’s who in Philippine cockfighting, will feature more than 100 fights in the highly-awaited championship round tomorrow at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The bigtime stagfest opened last Thursday with 110 fights, said pit manager Dong Lamoste of Araneta.
Participants are reminded to submit entries today until 9 p.m. Only straight-eight stags will be allowed.
Being hosted by sportsman Charlie “Atong” Ang of Vikings Gamefarm, the derby’s finale will banner more than 100 fights on Monday with a staggering guaranteed prize of P5 million on the line.
So far, nine participants lead the field with three wins each.

Leading derbyists of Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga and Pangasinan are gunning for the title.
