Altalettes gun for 2nd win against Xavier

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the IPPCA Football Pre-Season Cup resumes today with a four-game bill, including the Mapua-Emilio Aguinaldo College clash in seniors play, at the Nuvali Field in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

In the juniors side, the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altalettes shoot for their second straight win against the Xavier School booters at 1 p.m. to be followed by the match between the Far Eastern University Baby Tamaraws and the Letran Squires at 3 p.m. at Pitch No. 2.  

The UST-Metroil Tiger Cubs take on the Holistic Education and Development Center side at 1 p.m. over at Pitch No. 3 in the other juniors match in the league sponsored by Meralco, Nuvali, Nature’s Spring, Molten, N20 Gastropub, Boysen Paints, BDO, Topcoms/StarSports Korea, Bacchus, CDO San Marino Corned Tuna and Pingping Lechon.

The Altalettes kicked off their campaign two weekends ago with an 11-2 rout of the Squires but face a tough task against the Xavier side, which boasts of a superb football program.

The Squires, meanwhile, try to get back on track against the debuting Baby Tamaraws even as HEDC, which dropped a 1-0 decision to La Salle Greenhills, two weeks ago, will take on the Tiger Cubs, the other fancied squad in the league bankrolled by IPPCA members Chemrez Technologies Inc., Eastern Petroleum Corp., Filpride/USA88, Seaoil Philippines Inc., Flying V, Oilink, Unioil, International Engineer Phils., Inc., Filoil Energy Company, City Oil, Metro Oil Subic, LPGMA, Omni Petroleum Corp, Trans Overseas Industrial Corp. and CIIS.
