Rexona Run fires off with banner field

MANILA, Philippines - The Rexona Run 2012 fires off Sunday with a banner field expected to clash for top honors in various divisions, including the novel 21K relay event, at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

Cash prizes are up for grabs in the event, which also features the 21K solo and the 5K, as well as fabulous items, including flat screen TVs, appliances and mobile phones.

The top three finishers in the centerpiece 21K solo will receive P7,000, P5,500 and P4,000, respectively, while the 21K top three placers in the relay event will get P5,000, P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.

The top three finishers in the 5K category will also receive P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.

Spicing up the event is the Rexona challenge for runners to beat the “industry standard,” wherein commemorative key chains will be given to finishers who would finish the race on or before the recommended finishing time.

To qualify, 5K runners must cross the finish line on or before 6:20 a.m., 30 minutes from gun start and all 21K runners need to finish on or before 7 a.m., two hours after gun start.
