Jaguar Cars launches drift fest Sept. 22

MANILA, Philippines - Jaguar Cars Philippines will hold the first Jaguar Drift Fest powered by Monster Energy and Victoria Court on Sept. 22 at the King’s Playground inside the Food Terminal, Inc. Complex in Taguig City.

National champion drifter Raymond Ronquillo of R33 Car Garage leads the cast chasing the first-ever Jaguar Drift Fest crown and the top money prize worth P30,000.

Also expected to see action are Boodie Dabasol and Audel Sison of Team Autocraft, Ryan Agoncillo and Alex Perez of Team Yellow Cab, Jet Mathay of David Feliciano Drift Garage, Atoy Llave of Atoy Bodykits and John Boban of Driftmob.

Jaguar Cars Philippines chair and president Wellington “Willie” Soong and executive directors Marc Soong and Jason Soong graced the event launch at the Jaguar Showroom in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig yesterday.

The one-day event will feature a special Jaguar XKR drifting demonstration by Ian King of Car Porn Racing using a 510-horsepower Supercharged V8 engine and the Jaguar high performance braking system.

King, who will also host the event with Miss Formula Drift USA Melyssa Grace, drove a Jaguar XFR at the last drift competition organized by Car Porn Racing in June.

“Drifting a Jaguar was amazingly easy, the XFR had so much power and torque that it made drifting a breeze,” said King. “Even though it was running 275/35/20 inch rubbers, it easily spun them.”
