MANILA, Philippines – La Salle Green Hills Team A led winners in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines division while University of Santo Tomas remained unbeaten in the Passerelle division in the elimination round of the Milo-sponsored SBP-Passerelle NCR tournament.
In SBP, LSGH-A trounced Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati, 49-20, to lead Group A. San Beda Alabang trimmed Marist School Team B, 52-44, in Group B, San Beda College Rizal overwhelmed Chiang Kai Shek College, 75-53 (Group C) and La Salle Zobel-A toyed with School of St. Anthony, 57-31, and Marist School Team A beat St. Mary’s College, 51-36 (Group D).
Winners in the Passerelle division Group A were La Salle Santiago Zobel-A over Don Bosco Makati (59-43), Ateneo over Marist School (70-46) and Xavier-A over School of St. Anthony (78-46). Kid’s World Christian Academy beat La Salle Zobel-B (52-48) in Group B. In Group C, it was UST over Claret School (57-46), Notre Dame of Greater Manila over Xavier-B (78-60) and San Beda Rizal-B over St. Paul College Makati (75-52).
The SBP-Passerelle remains the country’s leading annual inter-school league for players aged 9-11 (SBP) and 12-14 (Passerelle). Organized by the Basketball Efficiency Scientific Training (BEST) Center, the twin tournament aims to develop the next generation of basketball heroes.
