26th Triple V-Media golf unfolds at Agui

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  The 26th edition of the Triple V-Media invitational golf classic will be played today with the media team seeking to retain the Tito Eduque Cup at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club course.

The Kamayan golfers hope to reassert their supremacy in the dual meet after the media side surprised them with a whopping 42-stroke victory last year. At stake in the dual meet is the Tito Eduque Cup, named after the late national basketball coach and chairman of the Triple V Group of restaurants, who died in 2001. Eduque would have been 85 last Sunday.

The annual dual meet will be played over 18 holes with the top 10 scorers of each club counting toward the team score. Participants will also play in a tournament within the tournament in their respective clubs.

Teeoff time is 6:30 a.m.

Sportscaster Anthony Suntay led last year’s rare lopsided Media victory with a net score of 60, which also topped Media’s own side tournament.

Ernie Wee was Kamayan’s champion.
