Alcantara, Batestil top Magnolia golf

MANILA, Philippines - Rudy Alcantara won the low net honors while Gilmer Batestil emerged the low gross champion in the third leg of the Magnolia Pure Water Senior Golf Series at the Philippine Navy Golf Club recently.

Rudy Amata topped Group I (55 to 59 years old), Reuben Lista ruled Group II (60-64) while Mario Lugay reigned in Group III (65-69) of the event organized by the Federation of Philippine Amateur Seniors Golfers Inc (FPASGI).

Buddy Mabulate captured the Group IV (70-74) crown while Mariano Tabalba lorded it over the field in Group V (75 and above) of the one-day tournament sponsored by San Miguel Corp.

In team play, the Veterans Seniors Chapter took the low net title while Aguinaldo Seniors Chapter won the low gross crown.

Meanwhile, action resumes on Aug. 10 with the staging of the fourth leg at Villamor Golf Club.
