Host Trinity University of Asia also joined the opening day winners as the Stallions disposed of the DBTC side, 79-71, behind MVP Jackson Wong’s 19 points.
“We have several new teams which joined the Sandugo-CAL and this shows that the league, sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, has been gaining recognition from colleges and universities. We are already planning a possible CAL in the Visayas early next year,” said Nino Sinco, project director of the league.
Meanwhile, action resumes tomorrow with Informatics International College-A taking on Emilio Aguinaldo College and College of St. Benilde facing DBTC, both in men’s division.
