Mysterio says he's big Pacquiao fan
MANILA, Philippines - Mexican Rey Mysterio, a popular wrestling figure in the SmackDown and Raw brands of the World Wrestling Entertainment, yesterday vowed to dish out more ring stuff in the next five years and continue providing entertainment to WWE fans.
“You will see more of me, may it be in the WWE or in the movies, I’ll still be around for five years I guess,” said Mysterio, who arrived yesterday for a two-country tour as part of his SmackDown World Tour set Aug. 12 in Taiwan.
The program will be shown on AKTV on IBC13.
The man whose real name is Oscar Gutierrez also said he’s a big fan of Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao.
“Even though he took down all my boxing idols in Mexico, I’ve always been a big fan of Manny Pacquiao,” said the 37-year-old Mysterio in a meet-and-greet affair at Burgoo inside the Gateway Mall in Cubao, QC.
Mysterio later made an appearance in the PBA Governors’ Cup finals between B-Meg and Rain or Shine last night where he presented commissioner Chito Salud his WWE championship belt.
“AKTV is proud to have Rey Mysterio in the Philippines. Filipino fans really love wrestling and WWE. They passionately follow SmackDown and Bottom Line on AKTV on IBC 13. We’re here to give our viewers a chance to see him up close,” said Vitto Lazatin, Sports5 sports manager.
AKTV on IBC 13 will air WWE SmackDown every Sunday at 9 p.m. and WWE Bottom Line every Saturday at 10 p.m.
