Tuason revs up for tough Belgian Cup

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - JP Tuason hopes to flash his racing skills against a tough international field as he competes in the Porsche Sports Cup set Aug. 3-5 at the Circuit de Spa, the Formula One track in Belgium.

Tuason was one of those invited to the event by Porsche Sports Cup organizers after the Filipino bet turned in an impressive performance in Germany, posting the fastest time around the famed Nurburgring track.

“I’m glad to be invited back. This is another opportunity to showcase the great talent of Filipino drivers and convince more of the big names in European circuit racing to open their doors and consider investing in Filipino racing talents,” said Tuason.

The founder and president of the Tuason Racing School initially joined the race in Germany to explore possible opportunities for Filipino racecar drivers to compete abroad in line with his advocacy for Global Racing Pinoy Talents.

The GRPT is a program that aims to bring TRS students and talented Filipino drivers to races in Europe to hone their talent and skills and become future racing champions.

Tuason, a veteran internationalist, has converted his experiences into a systematic and scientific curriculum that TRS uses in training these Racing Pinoys and TRS protégés like the nine-year-old Flynn Jackes, a product of the Castrol Champions of the Future program who recently won the Asian Karting Open Championships in Macau, and Korean Mickey Kim who upstaged top favorites to win the GT200 Class title on his debut race.
