Twin bill kicks off Sandugo-CAL caging tomorrow

MANILA, Philippines - Colegio de San Lorenzo takes on University of Asia & the Pacific while Trinity University of Asia battles Don Bosco Technical College in the opener of the Sandugo-Collegiate Athletic League tomorrow at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in QC.

The event, formerly the Collegiate Development League, has drawn a total of 13 teams, including six in the women’s division.

Launched last year as a developmental league for Team Bs in the major collegiate and university leagues like the NCAA and the UAAP, the league also gives opportunity to the other varsity leagues to play NCAA and UAAP schools.

UST squares off with De La Salle-Dasmariñas while Adamson mixes it up with Don Bosco in women’s play starting at 1 p.m.

The event, sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, is backed by the Philippine Sports Commission through commissioner Akiko Thomson-Guevarra, Phiten, Gatorade and PC-Gilmore.

Lyceum of the Philippines University is the defending champion in the women’s side that includes Adamson, UST, St. Benilde, Don Bosco Technical College-Mandaluyong and provincial team De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.

National University is the reigning titlist in the men’s side that also lured St. Benilde, Emilio Aguinaldo College and Informatics.
