Baseball Barakos upbeat on World Series title bid

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Pony Baseball Barakos are in high spirits as they head for the Richmond, Virginia for the first leg of their week-long buildup for the World Series. 

The team arrived in Washington DC last weekend and had a dinner hosted by Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Cuisia at the Philippine Embassy premises in the US capital.

Representing the Ambassador was First Secretary and Consul Emil Fernandez who gave an inspirational talk to the team in front of the president of the Don Bosco Alumni Association of Greater DC, Art Asistores, officials of the Filipino-American Association of Central Virginia (FAACV), past president Rudy Bolipata, vice president Marty Martinez and secretary Rumy Mhota together with other embassy officials and staff.

They were billeted in two presidential suites at the five-Star L’Enfant Plaza Hotel courtesy of the hotel management through manager Raul Mercado for an overnight stay before heading to Richmond.
