London Games up in Scoop

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines’ participation in next week’s Olympic Games in London will be tackled today in the Scoop sa Kamayan session at Kamayan-Padre Faura.

Philippine Olympic Committee chairman and weightlifting president Monico Puentevella will appear as main guest in the session, sponsored by Powerade, AKTV 5 and Fila, along with officials and members of the Philippine youth softball and baseball teams vying in three separate World Series in the US, including the Big League girls softball (16-18), Big League boys baseball (16-18) and Major League girls softball (11-12).

Heading the baseball group are Manila Councilor Che Borromeo, president of the Little League Manila Charter which will represent the country in the Big League softball scheduled in Kalamazoo, Michigan and head coach Ana Santiago.

Norman Macasaet, president of ILLAM Charter representing Major League softball world play in Portland, Oregon and Randy Dizer; and Ping Remollo, team manager of Muntinlupa Big League baseball team going to Easley, South Carolina, and coach Iking Jimenez.
