UE honors Dalupan, past Warriors in homecoming

MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East community welcomes its basketball heroes and legends for a first-ever UE Red Warriors Homecoming tonight where it will also pay tribute to multi-titled and legendary coach Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan in elaborate rites at the UE Manila Dalupan (Main) Lobby on CM Recto Ave.

The event will start at 5 p.m. to be highlighted by the tribute to Dalupan, who won 12 of UE’s 18 championships in the UAAP, including seven straight from 1965 to 1971, and several inter-collegiate titles.

UE Warrior greats Filomeno Pumaren Jr., Rhoel Nadurata, Jimmy Mariano, Robert Jaworski, Jerry Codiñera and Boycie Zamar will lead the rites while others expected to grace the event are Jimmy Manansala, Frederick Pumaren, Julio Cruz, Allan Caidic, Jojo Mariquit, Ting Hojilla, Johnny Marcadejas, Bong Ravena, Braulio Lim Jr., Alvin Zuñiga, Gerald Ortega, Noy Catalan, Raymond Sotto, Jay Arr Estrada, Paul Artadi, Nino Canaleta, Ronald Tubid, Roberts Labagala, Paulo Hubalde, Elmer Espiritu, Rudy Lingganay, James Yap and Paul Lee.
