MANILA, Philippines - Korean expat Lee Joon-hyung emerged as the hottest member after a couple of victories in the May and June monthly events of the Eagle Ridge Golf and County Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
Lee teamed up with Jo Hye-sung for the best score of net 14-under 58 in the best ball format used for the May 12 competition to capture Class A via the countback. Last June 9, Lee did it again, escaping with a narrow one-stroke victory in the same Class A division after scoring a gross four-over-par 76.
His solid form made Lee the player to beat in the club championship slated later this month.
The other June winners were Ricardo Antonio in Class B, Alex Honrado in Class C, Roel Hernandez in Class D, Leonila Patricio in the ladies division and Cesar Castro in seniors. Lee Jae-min and Shin In-seul were the men’s and ladies dependents winners, respectively.
For the May event, Class B was won by Art Medina-Nolan Enriquez, Class C by Robert Hernandez-Erwin Beltran and Class D by Alex Sulit-Rolando Torres. Kim Ju-yeon-Choi Su-Kim took the ladies crown and Daniel de Guzman-Yancy Uy the member-guest side event.
Meanwhile, the club is hosting the Inaugural Navigator’s Cup, an event for shipping companies, on June 28.
