- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) marks its 20th anniversary this year with a bigger, better event area and more display and retail booths to accommodate the increasing number of gun enthusiasts starting July 19 at SM Megamall.

As compared to the floor area of 2,958 square meters occupied by firearms exhibitors during the DSAS Part 2 last November, Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD) president Neri Dionisio said Part I of this year’s five-day gun show will occupy a total of 3,878 square meters of space in Megatrade Halls 1, 2 and 3, being the latest addition of display area.

Dionisio added that the number of firearms display and store booths for the 2012 DSAS Part I has reached 184 as compared to the 137 during the DSAS Part 2 last year.

To be attended by top government officials on the opening day, the 2012 DSAS Part 1 will highlight the AFAD Hall of Philippine World Champions to honor the country’s top guns who excelled not only in local shooting events but also in the international scene.

The AFAD, the event organizer of DSAS, will also launch the first DSAS “Right to Live” Print Media Awards for the best news and feature articles on the gun show and firearms industry.

Event manager Tradeshow International, Inc. will also hold the Best Booth Competition for the firearms exhibitors and daily raffle for lucky DSAS visitors.
