Wilson holds demo day at Greenview

MANILA, Philippines - Tennis players and enthusiasts got a rare chance to sample Wilson’s latest set of rackets when the leading tennis brand held the Wilson Demo Day at the Greenview Executive Village Tennis Club in Fairview recently.

“Our objective in the Wilson Demo Day was to provide tennis enthusiasts in all levels the feel and the passion of our world-class players Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro by using the Wilson equipment,” said WS Sports Inc. manager Lito Naval.

He added that club members, junior players and tennis aficionados got the chance to play the latest tennis models – BLX Pro Staff 6.1, BLX Juice and the BLX Steam – in the day-long event.

The Roger Federer BLX Pro Staff 6.1, according to Naval, is for competitive players. It is a complete revolution of the legendary classic featuring a 90 head size with lighter weight for maneuverability but in the exclusive Pro Staff design, technology and foamed amplifeel grip.

The Greenview netters, who represented the Philippines in the 2011 Sabah International Club, led by officers Prudencio Ignacio and Jess Berdulaga with team captain Gary Pomer, also tried the entire BLX Pro Staff 6.1 model which creates control and spin in the 100 and 95 head sizes.

For the aggressive players like Del Potro and US Open champ Viktoria Azarenka, the new BLX Juice Pro can hit through the ball with big power and spin, while the lighter Juice 108 at 278g provides a modern all-around feel, while the Juice 100 is the model for all ages and levels.

The BLX Steam 100, on the other hand, features a 286g weight incorporated in the mid plus head size. It is dubbed to become a favorite among weekend players with its crisp feel.
