Beermen guests in PSA Forum

MANILA, Philippines - Basketball once again becomes the hot topic when members of the Philippine Sportswriters Association face officials of the San Miguel Beermen who will gun for the championship of the Asean Basketball League (ABL) in the PSA Forum today at Shakey’s UN Ave.

PSA president and Tempo sports editor Rey Bancod said SMB coach Bobby Parks will lead the SMB entourage composed of players Christopher Clark Banchero, Leonidez Avenido, June Mar Fajardo and other members of the management staff, including team manager Rico Meneses and consultant Rajko Toroman. 

The Beermen defeated the Westports Malaysia Dragons in three games of their ABL semifinal playoffs to seal a title clash with the Indonesia Warriors in a best-of-three finals starting Saturday.

Parks may possibly bare his thoughts with former national coach Nat Canson, who will share his experience in the Indonesian basketball league where he is coaching the Astria Muda, which is fast making waves in their front.

The coming UAAP basketball season will also share time with the ABL when league president Nilo Ocampo of host National University presents his program for the league’s diamond anniversary.
