BEST hosts SBP/Passerelle; meeting today

MANILA, Philippines - Basketball hopefuls get another opportunity to hone their skills when they vie for honors in the 2012 Small Basketeers Philippines/Passerelle tournament in Metro Manila organized by BEST Center.

The summer cagefest is set to start on July 15 at Xavier School’s Fr. Rafael Cortina Sports Center.

The organizational meeting for the event will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Quezon City Sports Club.

All schools which competed last year and others interested in joining the tourney may send their respective coaches or representatives to the organizational meeting.

Lourdes School of Mandaluyong and Xavier School bagged the SBP and Passerelle NCR titles, respectively, last year. Lourdes went on to capture the national crown, but Ateneo de Cebu’s Sacred Heart of Jesus-Jesuit team prevailed in the Passerelle division.

Veteran basketball official Rolando B. Omampo is the national tournament Commissioner.
