FVR graces charity golf
MANILA, Philippines – Former President Fidel V. Ramos leads a group of amateur golfers in the ninth Golf for Kidney Care Tournament at the Philippine Navy Golf Club, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on June 27.
The 18-hole golf-for-a-cause at the par 70 layout is organized by the Kidney Foundation of the Philippines (KFP) in partnership with the Philippine Navy Golf Club as part of the National Kidney Month. Play will be the Blind Callaway system.
Ramos will do the ceremonial tee-off at 7 a.m.
KFP executive director Dr. Remedios Uriarte said that proceeds of the tournament will be used to subsidize more patients afflicted with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) in need of dialysis treatment and transplant operation. Moreover, she said, part of the proceeds will go to the information drive on kidney disease prevention.
Uriarte said registration starts at 5:30 a.m. on June 27. Tee-off time is 7 a.m. Tournament fee is P 2,500 inclusive of green fee, caddie fee, lunch, give- aways, raffle prizes and a chance to win a Vespa scooter and other hole-in-one prizes.
