Pacquiao entourage reaches Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Filipino champ blew into town Monday evening with his family, friends and team members on board 26 vehicles and a bus bearing his colorful image.

It’s fight week here in Vegas. It’s Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley.

Pacquiao closed his camp at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles and took the four-and-a-half-hour drive to the gambling capital of the world, the boxing capital of the world.

Pacquiao is staying at The Hotel of Mandalay Bay, his suite, which has its own elevator, a pool table, two bedrooms and a living room that can host a party, up in the 60th floor.

It was like a fiesta inside the Pacquiao suite, but when it was time to go, everybody had to go.

“Those who have no business here can leave the room now. Enjoy Las Vegas. Thank you,” said Pacquiao, who has imposed a strict curfew of 9 p.m. inside his suite.

His wife, Jinkee, and their four kids are all staying in the suite.

Pacquiao enjoyed his dinner and did not speak much about the coming fight, except when he declared that he’s ready to get it on with Bradley.

“I’m ready to go. I’m super excited to fight,” said Pacquiao.

He rode his trusted Navigator to Vegas, joined by only his wife, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson and a secretary. LA buddy Edward Lura manned the wheel.

At the hotel’s betting station, Pacquiao’s name appeared as the favorite against Bradley, undefeated in 28 fights and strong enough to declare he’d destroy Pacquiao.

Pacquiao moved up nearly to 5-1 at -480, meaning you need to put in $480 on him just to win a hundred bucks. Bradley is at +360, every $100 wins $360.

Pacquiao winning by knockout is still even money, and him winning by decision is at -160. Bradley winning is a handsome bet, your money times five for a decision and times six for a knockout.

Don’t expect Pacquiao to put his money on it.

“I’ve stopped gambling,” he said.
