Fil-Am keys Indons' win over Patriots

- Olmin Leyba -

MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am Stanley Pringle offset the loss of import Evan Brock to injury with a fiery performance as Indonesia Warriors ambushed AirAsia Philippine Patriots, 73-64, to gain the headstart in their AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) semis showdown yesterday before a shocked crowd at Ynares Sports Arena.

Pringle scattered 23 points spiked by three triples to more than fill in for Brock (eight points and nine rebounds), who left the game after only seven minutes of action due to groin injury.

Steven Thomas had 19 boards along with 17 points as the hot-starting Warriors primed up for a possible reversal of their best-of-three series on Sunday at home.

“I’m real proud of the team for cranking it up even if we lost one import early on,” said Warriors coach John Todd Purves.
