National batters rout AUF; Philab wins

MANILA, Philippines - After a shaky opening day win, the Philippine team came out with a lot more firepower as it blasted Angeles University Foundation, 13-0, yesterday in the POC-PSC Philippine National Games at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The national clouters, who struggled with a 3-2 victory over the Phl youth squad last Monday, cashed in on their pitching and hitting superiority over AUF in six innings to pick up their second straight triumph in Group A, one game behind pacesetting Philab’s 3-0. 

Philab blanked Titans, 7-0, over at the University of Santo Tomas field, to stay at the helm.

Multi-titled SCUAA titlists Rizal Technological U also posted its second victory in as many outings as it trounced University of Santo Tomas, 7-3, for the Group B lead.

The Philippine Youth Team also came away with a 15-0 romp over Adamson in three innings for a 2-1 slate in Group A.
