Lady Stags, Altas dispute No. 3 spot

MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian and Perpetual Help collide today in a key encounter for the No. 3 spot in the Final Four at the close of the quarterfinal round of the ninth Shakey’s V-League Presented by Smart at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Stags ousted the National U Lady Bulldogs in four last Tuesday to tie the Lady Altas, who dropped a straight-set setback to the UST Tigresses, at 4-2, making their 6 p.m. collision a crucial one in a fitting windup to an action-packed quarters phase.

The winner will take the No. 3 spot in the crossover semis for a clash with No. 2 UST while the loser will settle for No. 4 and a clash with the top-seeded, unbeaten defending champion Ateneo in the tournament sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza and backed by Mikasa and Accel.

UST, meanwhile, tries to seal the No. 2 spot as it closes out its quarters assignment against NU at 4 p.m. while Adamson and FEU tangle at 2 p.m.

The first two matches will be aired on a delayed basis on AKTV-13 starting at 7 p.m., according to the organizing Sports Vision. Games can be viewed live on streaming on www.v-league.ph.
