National karting series fires off at Boomland

-

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top karters see action in the third leg of the Philippine National Karting Series firing off May 27 at the Boomland Kart Track of the CCP Complex in Pasay.

First leg winner VJ Suba and Batangas leg champion Estefano Rivera dispute solo lead in the ROK Overall class in an expected tight battle between Fern-C Racing teammates for the coveted Karter of the Year plum.

Rivera barely leads with 115 points while Suba has 114.  CJ Tsui of Industria Racing is in third overall while last year’s Clubman Karter Matthew Chan, also of Fern-C Racing, and Archim Lagman are in fourth and fifth with 68 and 51 points, respectively.

His double-title feat in Batangas also shoved Rivera to the lead in the ROK Junior division with 130 points against Miranda and Chan, who tote 111 and 78 points, respectively.

Joining the field of the combined ROK Overall, ROK Senior, ROK Junior and ROK Clubman race are Sacha Feliciano of Marcelo Racing, Franco Reyes and Bobby Domingo of Industria Racing, Jonathan Huotari of Tuason Racing, and Raul Baretto.

Also tap in the event, sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Motorstar and Aeromed, are the SQ karting race where the Red Bull Supreme Racing duo of Nike Mora and Don Batino seek another 1-2 finish and keep the top spots in the SQ Expert class.
