Castrol backs JP Tuason's Porsche Cup bid in Germany

MANILA, Philippines - Another world leader in racing – Castrol Oil – joined Bridgestone in backing up the upcoming stint of Tuason Racing School president JP Tuason in the prestigious Porsche Sports Cup set May 12-13 at the Nurburgring F1 Circuit in Germany.

Mars Sota, country manager of Castrol Philippines, said he supported Tuason’s international stint of their long-time partnership in Philippine motorsports and also because he believes in his talents as a multi-titled race car champion driver who has raced and trained outside the Philippines.

Attesting to the track records of Tuason Racing School’s successful programs through the years, Sota likewise believes that the stint of JP’s TRS-Castrol Racing Team in Germany will open opportunities for Racing Pinoys in the international racing scene.

For years, Castrol has been at the forefront of prestigious international motorsports events all over the world. In local racing, Castrol has supported all levels of motorsports from two-wheel racing, to karting and circuit races as the multi-national oil company believes Filipino drivers have the potential to make it big in international racing.

Castrol and Tuason Racing School had been partners in several successful motorsports programs and events in their common thrust to intensify the development of Philippine motorsports.

Last year, Castrol teamed up anew with Tuason Racing School for the successful grassroot level karting program dubbed “Castrol Champions of the Future” to help get kids as early as seven into the sport and create a career path that would get them closer to their Formula One Racing dreams.

“We believe that Filipinos are built for racing. We have the suitable body frame, innate talent for driving and passion for speed,” said Sota.

“Tuason’s stint in the 30-car grid event will showcase to the world’s eyes the Racing Pinoy’s excellent race driving skills. Moreover, carrying the colors of Castrol and Bridgestone quickly gets their attention on the Filipino driver,” he added.

Tuason has converted his experiences into a systematic and scientific curriculum that TRS uses in training the Racing Pinoys. And with Tuason Racing School’s Racing Career Management Program, JP hopes to provide Racing Pinoys the launch pad for an international racing career.

“With the support of companies like Castrol, we are able to participate in events of this caliber that will not only equip us with the needed key learnings on how to prepare more Pinoys in the global arena, but also further establish Tuason Racing School’s reputation and credibility as a major contender for opportunities in Asian racing,” said Tuason.
