Pachanga XI blanks Laos
MANILA, Philippines - Jovi Bedic struck twice as Pachanga FC blanked Laos FC, 4-0, to keep the lead in the United Football League (UFL) Division 2 wars at the University of Makati (UMak) field Saturday.
The 21-year-old Bedic connected right in the first minute to set the tone for the one-sided match where Pachanga notched its 14th win against a draw for division-best 43 points.
The Ilonggo forward found the back of the net one more time at the 75th minute and was joined in scoring by Robert Canedo (37’) and Shirman Felongco (88’) as Pachanga stayed atop the field, five points ahead of second-running Diliman Victory Liner FC (38 points on 12-2-0).
Cebu Queen City United FC remained at third spot with 32 points (10-2-3) after edging Team Socceroo, 4-3, over at The Turf in Bonifacio Global.
The Cebu booters broke a 2-2 standoff when Dan Villarico scored at the 68th minute and Benedict Luis Arriola hit his second goal for the day two minutes later, en route to notching the full three points. John Michael Flores accounted for Cebu’s opening goal (17’).
Socceroo, which got goals from Romeu Rodrigues (37’), Zayden Timpani (50’) and Daniel Matsunaga (93’), remained at seventh with 17 points on a 5-2-8 card.
