One Racing recruit Lachica shines anew in Petron karting

-

MANILA, Philippines - Jose Luigi Lachica displayed consistent tough form as he captured his second straight win in the Formula Cadet Novice class recently in the second leg of the 2012 Petron Blaze Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The eight-year-old Lachica, an incoming Grade 3 student of Colegio San Agustin-Makati, proved his potentials as a future karting champ as he now holds solo lead in the class under the guidance of One Racing Team powered by MyPhone, Tony Kart, AIM Racing Gauges, ORG Racing Gear, Sparco, HJC Auto Helmets and the Active Group.

He completed eight laps of racing in 13 minutes, 38.948 seconds to turn back Francis Tanlu and Sean Draeco Abalajon.

It was his first time racing in the long and wide course of the Batangas Racing Circuit, but Luigi’s natural talent flowed with marked improvements from the qualifying heat all the way to the finals.

From a seventh place finish in the qualifying heat, Lachica managed to move up to sixth overall in the combined pre-final round.

And though he struggled for position against the Expert karters in the final race, Luigi managed to chip off nearly three seconds from his pre-final time as he posted his personal BRC best laptime of 1:38.948

“Luigi has been consistently delivering honors for the team. At his age, he has the making of a future racing champion. It’s quite rare for such a budding young karter to show the drive, the discipline and the dedication early in his racing career. For that, I believe Luigi will go places,” said One Racing coach Pepon Marave.
