Roach expects Bradley to fight

MANILA, Philippines - Timothy Bradley has all the right to believe and say he’d destroy Manny Pacquiao on June 9 in Las Vegas.

Bradley is young, strong and undefeated. He said it’s his time.

Freddie Roach doesn’t think so.

No, not yet.

“The Internet is a great tool to promote one’s self these days,” Roach told yesterday’s Scoop sa Kamayan sports forum in Manila.

“But he has never faced anyone like Pacquiao before. Let’s see who’s standing in the end,” Roach said of the 28-year-old Bradley, who’s 28-0.

Roach was told of a lengthy Q&A that came out of FightHype.com yesterday, where Bradley sounded so sure of a victory over the 33-year-old champ.

“When I leave that night, I’m gonna be the new welterweight champion of the world. I’m telling you that you are going to witness history that night.

“I’m definitely coming to seek and destroy, man, and I’m going to destroy Manny Pacquiao on June 9th,” Bradley told Percy Crawford of the boxing website.

So, what gives Bradley all the right to say so?

“Bradley believes in himself,” said Roach, the five-time Trainer of the Year.

“He’s undefeated. He’s a new guy and among the new generation that’s coming up. He’s never been knocked down, never been knocked out,” he added.

Pacquiao will put an end to this, according to Roach, impressed with the way training had gone the past three weeks in Baguio City.”

But it’s not going to be easy.

“Bradley will come to fight. He’s like Ricky Hatton but with a good chin. Bradley is a tough guy. He will try till the end. There’s no quitting,” said Roach.
