Young karters brace for early showdown
MANILA, Philippines - Top young karters dispute crucial wins to boost their title bids as action shifts to Rosario, Batangas today for the second leg of the 2012 Petron Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Carl Luig of AUTS Racing and Daniel Miranda of Cebuana Lhuillier-Marcelo Racing gun for their second straight wins to stay on top of their respective classes in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron Blaze, San Miguel Corporation, Motorstar and Aeromed.
Luig, who even upstaged the Expert karters in the combined race, eyes a repeat over Raymond Cudala of Kart Wreckers and Carlos Lorenzo in the Formula SL Novice class.
Miranda hopes to prevail anew in the ROK Junior division though he expects another tough showdown with Estefano Rivera of Fern-C Racing.
Jaz Monzones of Natmo Asia-GP1 Racing also looks forward to another triumph in the ROK Novice class against former SQ karter Raul Barretto.
Gabe Cabrera of Kart Wreckers aims to dominate the Mini-ROK class anew as he tries to ward off Flynn Jackes of TRS-Castrol Kids and Xedrei Daquigan.
Tai Zulberti of City Kart and Luigi Lachica of One Racing are also eyeing their second wins in the Formula Cadet classes.
Zulberti will try to turn back Jacob Chamness and AT Tuason of TRS-Castrol Kids to gain solo lead in the Formula Cadet Expert division.
Lachica, on the other hand, goes for another win in the Formula Cadet Novice class against Sean Draeco Abalajon of Kart Wreckers and Francis Tanlu of AUTS Racing.
