Mamburao hosts Wild Mambu Run

-

MANILA, Philippines - The municipality of Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro welcomes athletes, eco tourists and other guests as it hosts the second Wild Mambu Trail Run and Aquathlon on May 20.

A joint project of the Philippine Skyrunning Association, the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) and the local government of Mamburao headed by Mayor Voltaire Anthony “Bambi” Villarosa, the two-in-one event is a follow-up to last year’s successful race and will once again showcase the province’s natural surroundings while offering participants unique physical challenges.

For the aquathlon, participants will be swimming on the clear ocean water of Mamburao and then run on the trail route that includes the beach, the forest, river crossings and the Mangyan village. Trail run participants will take the same run route.

At stake in the event are medals for the top 3 male and female finishers of the 4K trail run, the 10K trail run, mini-aquathlon (500-meter swim plus 4K run), aquathlon (1K swim plus 10 K run) and the aquathlon relay (two members per team).

Entry fee is P1,800, which entitles the participant to a two-day, one-night resort accommodation (at Alastre Beach Resort or Nueva Villa Resort), transportation to and from the race venue and welcome dinner venue, post-race brunch, and official race t-shirt.
