Erase Plantcenta gets big boost in D-League campaign

MANILA, Philippines - Posting a 2-3 record in the early going of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup, newcomer Erase Plantcenta remains upbeat of its chances with management vowing its all-out support in pursuit of cage glory.

As one of the two new squads in the fledgling league, the Erasers know they are in for a tough challenge but team owner Louie Gamboa believes that with right attitude and discipline, they can achieve their goal to become a contender.

““Since we’re newcomers, we’re bound to make mistakes along the way, but make sure to bounce back strong and learn from those mistakes,” said Gamboa. “No matter what happens, make sure to show your courage and passion for the game.”

Taking that challenge to heart, the Erasers bounced back from a string of setbacks to stun the Junior Powerade side, 81-69, last week, in the process endearing themselves to the fans.

They may not have the firepower of defending champions NLEX Road Warriors, but the Erasers boast of a never-say-die attitude and the will tow in.

“Since we’re still in the process of developing our players to become stars of the league, we rely much on our never-say-die attitude which is the reason why we now have a strong following,” said Gamboa’s son, Mark.

Allan Mangahas’ entry, according to the younger Gamboa, has boosted the team’s firepower with the Mapua star exploding for 21 points in his debut.

Jetterson Vidal and Mark Anthony Acosta have also been dishing out big games, making the Gamboas and their new Jaoming endorser, comedy queen AiAi delas Alas, confident of the team’s surge.

In their recent team building, Mark Gamboa, who manages the team, also reiterated the family’s all-out support to the team and is willing to put additional budget to make their dream – winning a crown – come true.

“We’re here in the D-League not only for this conference but for a longer period. It’s own way of helping Philippine sports, basketball in particular,” said Mark.

Even Erase Plantcenta’s sister companies – UK Resort and Leisure Park, Jaoming Marketing Corp., Essential Beauty Wellness, UK Direct Sales, Benzal Cosmectics Industry, LG Printing Enterprises and Smile Home Service Massage – are going out their way to support its campaign in the D-League.
