Milo chess clinic up in 7 venues

MANILA, Philippines - Angels in Heaven School in Cabuyao, Ultimart Sopping Plaza in San Pablo and Nepo Mall in Dagupan will host the first batch of provincial chess classes of Milo-sponsored Checkmate summer clinics beginning today.

Other clinics will be held at P.O. Domingo Montessori School, Paniqui, Tarlac (April 13-15); Canossa Academy, Lipa City (May 3-5) and Megacenter The Mall in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija (May 6-9) and in Bohol on May 23-25.

Open to kids 7-16 years old, the program has been designed to develop their talents through formal and systematic method of teaching. Sponsored by Milo, the program has produced the likes of GMs Wesley So, Mark Paragua, John Paul Gomez, Ronald Dableo and Julio Catalino Sadorra.

The three whole day chess activity consists of 18 hours lessons and two hours competition. Among the courses offered are for preparatory, beginners, intermediate and advance levels.

Interested parties are advised to enrol at their chosen venue on the first day and first hour of the clinic and to bring their own chess sets, notebook and pen.
