One Racing recruits seven-year-old star

-

MANILA, Philippines - One Racing found strong champion potentials in seven-year-old Jose Luigi Lachica and Mary Allison Julian following their amazing stints in the kickoff of the 2012 Petron Blaze Karting Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

Lachica, an incoming Grade 3 student of Colegio San Agustin-Makati, is one of the discoveries of the Champions of the Future Series last year.  He proved his worth as he pocketed the Formula Cadet Novice crown for One Racing powered by MyPhone, Tony Kart, AIM Racing Gauges, ORG Racing Gear, Sparco, HJC Auto Helmets and the Active Group.

Julian, on the other hand, started her campaign in the Formula SL Novice class with a fifth place finish.

It was one big feat for Lachica who scored his first career victory on his third actual competition since late last year.

Posting a best personal time of 53.552 seconds, this kickoff leg showed how he improved in every race as he finished sixth in the qualifying heat and then moved up fifth in the pre-final.

In the 15-lap final showdown, Luigi upstaged three other Formula Cadet Expert drivers in the combined race as he checked in fourth overall, clocking 13 minutes, 53.757 seconds.

Mary Allison Julian likewise displayed marked improvement, submitting a new personal best time of 49.476 seconds, beating her previous best by more than 2 seconds.  She completed 19 laps of racing in 18 minutes, 16.484 seconds.

“We’re very happy with the significant improvements in their performances. That proved their potentials as future champions of local karting,” said One Racing coach Pepon Marave.
