Ciriacruz, Nabong key Elite big win
MANILA, Philippines - Gio Ciriacruz and Kelly Nabong dished off double-double outputs as Blackwater Sports wiped out Erase Plantcenta, 91-63, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the San Juan gym yesterday.
The Elite poured it all out in the first quarter, outscoring the Erasers, 24-9, then led by as many as 39 points en route to the lopsided victory, their second in three starts.
Ciriacruz tallied 19 points and had 11 rebounds while Nabong contributed 15 and had 12 boards for the Elite, who dropped a sorry 79-84 decision to Jr. Powerade last week.
Big Chill also posted a 98-66 rout against Cagayan to join Blackwater in third behind unbeaten NLEX (3-0) and Cebuana Lhuillier (2-0).
Mac Montilla fired 21 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the three-point range while Raffy Reyes added 10 points had five assists apiece for the Super Chargers, who held the Suns to 3 of 17 shooting in the first quarter for a 29-9 lead.
Paul Christian Zamar came off the bench to score 16 points for Blackwater Sports, which shot 43 percent (34-of 78).
With Ciriacruz, Nabong and Clark Bautista hitting their strides early, the Elite roared to a 22-2 advantage after just seven minutes of play and were never challenged the rest of the way.
Jet Vidal scored 12 points and Allan Mangahas had 10 for Erase Plantcenta, which fell to 1-2.
