Carlos, Guioguio head golf cast
MANILA, Philippines - Jobim Carlos sets out as the top favorite in the boys division while Lovelynn Guioguio seeks back-to-back romp in the girls’ side when the WWW-Express Amateur Golf Championships get going tomorrow at the north course of Canlubang Golf and Country Club in Laguna.
Carlos, a golf scholar at the University of San Francisco and winner of the first National Golf Association of the Phils. National Doubles title with Raymundo Gonzales, is coming off a runner-up finish to Fil-Singaporean Gregory Foo in the Philippine Amateur Open Championship last January, also at Cangolf’s north course, and is all primed up to take on the challenge from a talent-laden field in the 72-hole tournament.
It includes members of the Frankie Miñoza Golf Foundation, headed by Reymon Jaraula, Magno Arancon and Noel Langgamin, Southwoods’ Miggy Yee and AR Ramos, Andres Saldana of Alabang and Cangolf’s Joey Huerva.
