PATTS runner finishes 160km Death March
MANILA, Philippines - Mark Anthony Rodica, a BS AMT batch 2001 PATTS College of Aeronautics graduate, was one of the finishers of the second Bataan Death March 160 km. Ultramarathon Race held recently from Mariveles, Bataan to Capas, Tarlac.
Rodica, a former PATTS varsity volleyball player and later team captain, started running in 2008 and entered the competitive level a year later. He was introduced to ultramarathon more than a year ago. He decided to join the Bataan Death March Run last year where he finished 39th with a record time of 15 hours, 6 minutes, 7 seconds.
His remarkable feat of 160 km. in less than 30 hours was supported by his alma mater, PATTS College of Aeronautics.
He received a plaque of recognition from PATTS college officials, college president and COO Jose Eduardo Valdez and vice president for administrative affairs Anna Katrina Cruz during the awarding ceremonies held on the occasion of PATTS 43rd foundation anniversary.
