Alabang, Tagaytay pace Ladies Fed

-

MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion Alabang bounced back from a pair of tight matches with Forest Hills by sweeping Valley even as Tagaytay Highlands blanked Sta. Elena in the Ladies Federation Golf League matches played in various venues recently.

Kicking of its title-retention bid with consecutive draws, Alabang overwhelmed Valley in their home-and-away matchup the last two weeks by giving up just half a point.

Alabang earned a 3.5-0.5 decision in the away format and scored a 4-0 sweep at their home course for the solo lead in Group 1.

Forest Hills, meanwhile, battled to its third draw in the young season this time with Orchard. Counting its away win against Orchard, the Antipolo squad stayed in second spot with a 1-0-3 win-loss-draw record. Orchard is at 1-2-1 and Valley 1-3-0.

Highlands served notice of its serious championship bid after a pair of 3-1 wins over Sta. Elena in Group 2.

Southwoods, which won at home and drew the away game with Sta. Elena, will meet Tagaytay Highlands this week.

The top two teams in each division will advance to the semifinals on April 12-13 with the winners clashing for the championship on April 19-20.
