Seasports Festival slated at Ocean Park

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top dragon boat clubs clash in the Manila Bay Summer Seasports Festival slated March 24-25 at Manila Ocean Park.

Racers from Batangas, Cavite, Bulacan, Quezon, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Mindoro and Iloilo compete against their counterparts from Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay and Manila in the stock and formula divisions in the event presented by Manila Broadcasting Company and the City of Manila and held in cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard.

Members of the national team that topped the World Dragon Boat Championship last year along with 12 of the country’s leading dragon boat clubs will see action along with paddlers from the Philippine Army, De La Salle University, PDRT Fireblades, Blue Phoenix, Maharlika Drakon, RCP Sea Dragons, Onslaught Racing Radgons, Oncer Piece DrakonSangress, Rogue Pilipinas, Triton Racing Team, EYP Cebu Dragons and MOP’s own home team.

Concert artists led by Erik Santos, Posh, Bryan Termulo, and the Go Girls have been invited to grace the awarding ceremonies on March 25. 

Races begin at 8 a.m. 

Other backers of the event are Smart Communications, Caltex, Sugus, Ginebra San Miguel, Cobra Energy Drink, M. Lhuillier, So Lucky Crackers, H2O Hotel, Cord Marine Epoxy, and Harbor View Restaurant.
