MANILA, Philippines - Raymond Cudala, Gabriel Cabrera and Dylan Arambulo were among the youngest recipients of the ninth Golden Wheel Awards held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City recently.
The 13-year old Cudala sealed a fruitful 2011 campaign by bagging the Overall Cadet Expert championship. A student of Elizabeth Seton School, Cudala also copped the Cadet Karter of the Year perpetual trophy, joining the elite roster of winners that include John Alvarez, Jaco Reyes, Vrei Ar Suba, Christian Gaddi, Carl Pollington and Basti Escalante.
Cabrera, a 12-year-old student of Makati Hope Christian School, clinched the overall Cadet Novice first runner-up honors, capping an impressive debut last year. Cabrera also won the SQ Cadet Novice championship in the SQ International Cup wherein Cudala also emerged victorious in the upper class SQ Novice division.
Arambulo of Ateneo likewise relished his overall Cadet Novice second runner-up finish. The youngest of the trio is currently gearing up for another challenging race year as he is slated to move up to the Cadet Expert class.
