Bible run attracts big field

-

MANILA, Philippines - More than 5,000 runners are expected to join the “May They Be One (MTBO)” Bible Run which fires off tomorrow at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

The field will include 20 blind members of the Resources of the Blind who will be vying in the 3K and 5K runs, according to race organizer John Baloloy.

Official check-in is at 5 a.m.

Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila has been invited to fire the opening gun at 6 a.m.

The MTBO campaign is a joint project of the Philippine Bible Society (PBS), the Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apostolate, the National Council of Churches in the Philippines, the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, the Chinese Congress on World Evangelization Fellowship Philippines, Inc. and other like-minded groups who believe that genuine national transformation can only be achieved through the guidance and transforming power of God’s Word.

The MTBO Bible Run is part of a nationwide campaign that aims to bring five million Bibles to five million poor Filipino families in seven years.
